Biography

Gerardo Luis Rivera is a native of Ponce, PR. He began his studies in music theory and piano at the Escuela Libre de Música Juan Morel Campos in 1995 under the tutelage of Professor Delsie Bermúdez. In 1998 he began studies with Professor Carlos Lopez Sabater at the Institute of Music Juan Morel Campos. He finished his Bachelor of Music majoring in Piano in 2005, the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico where he graduated Magna Cum Laude; the university professor was the pianist Vanessa Vassallo.

Has extensive experience in the interpretation of various musical genres. Classical, jazz, popular Puerto Rican dances and music among others. Companies like Roche, Pfizer, Ecoelectrica, CCL Label, and Beta Sigma Nu fraternity have hired Gerardo Luis. He has also performed in concerts and activities which have been found leading figures such as former governors of Puerto Rico Luis A. Ferré (1904-2003) and Rafael Hernández Colón, the consul of Venezuela in Puerto Rico, the family Serrallés, Rovira family among others. He has participated in Universities as John Dewey and Bayamon Central University, the University of Puerto Rico at Ponce School of Law, Catholic University, American University in San German and the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico. He has also participated in television evangelist campaigns Yiye Avila, Christian Symphony Orchestra (Glenview Baptist Church) and accompanied artists such as Julito Alvarado (trumpet the Latin Jazz genre) and Tony Vega in the popular genre.

Mr. Rivera has donated his talent in countless non-profit activities such as National Day against AIDS, young people walk Down syndrome, 40 anniversary of the Centers Isolina Ferre, exhibitions of art from the University of PR, poetry contests , awards, and government activities such as taking possession of the mayor of Ponce. Actively participates in weddings, receptions, cocktails and dinner at venues such as crabs Carolina Yacht Club, the Hotel El Convento, Hotel Sheraton in Old San Juan and SJ Convention Center, Convention Center Guayama, Tropical Salon Las Piedras, Bahia Salinas Hotel Cabo Rojo, Parador Cielo Mar in Aguadilla, Parador Guajataca in Quebradillas, Ponce Yacht Club, Castle Serrallés and Japanese Garden among others. During 2005 to 2007 was the official pianist Costa Caribe Restaurant in Ponce Hilton. He currently teaches piano and music theory at the Institute of Music Juan Morel Campos in Ponce. Continue their education by an MBA in Management and Leadership from Eastern University in Yauco. Live thankful to God for all His blessings in particular his wife and daughter.
